5 CLEAR steps on HOW TO raISE CHICKS for SUSTAINABILITY

Prepare Your Brooder

  • Make sure brooder box is set up before bringing  the chicks home. A warm safe space is essential for the chicks to thrive.
  • 90-95 degrees Fahrenheit temperature during the first week is recommended for safety.


Gather the Right Supplies

  • A heat lamp
  • Clean bed (pine shavings)
  • Chick feed with good nutrients
  • Fresh, clean water 


These supplies are essentials for the chicks comfort and safety. 

Maintain Cleanliness and Consistency

  • Keeping the space/brooder clean and dry is very important and easy. 
  • The bedding (pine shavings) and water needs to be replaced frequently to prevent disease and grow strong health chicks. 


By doing this, you become more responsible and aware about of sustainable living.

Monitor Temperature

  • Decrease heat by 5 degrees Fahrenheit each week as chicks grow.
  • Always check for drafts to prevent them from getting sick.
  • Check for predators (animals) that may harm them.
