Raising Poultry for Sustainability 's Visual Journey: Browse MY Photo Gallery

    From Chicks to Hens

Each stage of raising poultry tells a story of patiences, connection and learning. What started as eggs , turned into chicks soon become an important part of sustainable living. With consistent catering (feeding, cleaning, and protecting) the chicks will grow into hens that produce food such as eggs and natural fertilizer.

Our  Shared Gallery Shows A Beautiful Journey of Care and Growth

    • The Beginning: After purchasing the baby chicks, setting up a brooder is the next step as it is important for chicks to have a warm and safe home to thrive.

    • The Growth:  Watching the chicks evolve into chicken is a such great experience. They adapt to every season as you can see in the photo gallery provided. During the summer time they would freely roam the outdoors peckish at grass and enjoy the sunlight. Not much changed in the winter time as they remain curious and active, stepping in snow and naturally adjusting to the changing environment.

    • The Rewards:  Watching tiny chicks grow and start producing  is a reminder that dedication pays off. Gathering your own eggs each morning and seeing your poultry thrive through every seasons is where the reward truly lies. While harvesting is the main purpose, learning and experiencing the hobby is equally important and rewarding.

"I haven't checked, but I highly suspected that chicken is evolved from an egg-laying ancestor, which would mean that they were, in fact, eggs before they were chickens. Genius"
